چکیده

Computer Vision has recently witnessed great research advance towards automatic facial points detection. Numerous methodologies have been proposed during the last few years that achieve accurate and efficient performance. However, fair comparison between thesemethodologies is infeasiblemainly due to two issues. (a) Most existing databases, captured under both constrained and unconstrained (in-the-wild) conditions have been annotated using different mark-ups and, in most cases, the accuracy of the annotations is low. (b) Most published works report experimental results using different training/testing sets, different error metrics and, of course, landmark points with semantically different locations. In this paper, we aim to overcome the aforementioned problems by (a) proposing a semi-automatic annotation technique that was employed to re-annotate most existing facial databases under a unified protocol, and (b) presenting the 300 Faces InThe-Wild Challenge (300-W), the first facial landmark localization challenge that was organized twice, in 2013 and 2015. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first effort towards a unified annotation scheme of massive databases and a fair experimental comparison of existing facial landmark localization systems. The images and annotations of the new testing database that was used in the 300-W challenge are available from http://ibug.doc.ic.ac.uk/resources/300-W_IMAVIS/. © 2016 Elsevier B.V. A Trust Based Probabilistic Method for Efficient Correctness Verification in Database Outsourcing

Correctness verification of query results is a significant challenge in database outsourcing. Most of the proposed approaches impose high overhead, which makes them impractical in real scenarios. Probabilistic approaches are proposed in order to reduce the computation overhead pertaining to the verification process. In this paper, we use the notion of trust as the basis of our probabilistic app...

IIIT-CFW: A Benchmark Database of Cartoon Faces in the Wild

In this paper, we introduce the cartoon faces in the wild (IIIT-CFW) database and associated problems. This database contains 8,928 annotated images of cartoon faces of 100 public figures. It will be useful in conducting research on spectrum of problems associated with cartoon understanding. Note that to our knowledge, such realistic and large databases of cartoon faces are not available in the...

Aff-Wild: Valence and Arousal 'In-the-Wild' Challenge

The Affect-in-the-Wild (Aff-Wild) Challenge proposes a new comprehensive benchmark for assessing the performance of facial affect/behaviour analysis/understanding ‘in-the-wild’. The Aff-wild benchmark contains about 300 videos (over 2,000 minutes of data) annotated with regards to valence and arousal, all captured ‘in-the-wild’ (the main source being Youtube videos). The paper presents the data...

Serological survey of Leishmania infantum in wild rodents of Turkemen Sahra, Golestan province, North-East Iran

Leishmania infantum, an etiologic agent of zoonotic visceral leishmaniasis (VL), is spreading in Iran. Dogs are the main reservoirs but L.infantum has been detected in jackals, foxes and wild rodents too. Despite high number of rodents in the world, the exact role of them in epidemiology of VL is not clear. In recent years the number of sporadic cases of dogs and humans VL has been increased in...
